Statistics
The statistics page shows detailed analyses of your observation history. Open it via Menu → “Statistics”.
Overview
Four key figures at a glance:
- Observations — Total number of all logged observations
- Objects — Number of distinct celestial objects observed
- Sessions — Number of observation sessions
- Observation time — Total observation time across all sessions
Personal Records
- Longest session — Duration of the longest observation session
- Most objects in a night — Maximum number of distinct objects in a single night
- Longest streak — Consecutive weeks with at least one observation
- Observation rhythm — Average days between observations
Activity
Calendar Heatmap
Shows observation activity for the current year as a calendar view (similar to a GitHub contributions chart). Darker cells indicate more observations on that day.
Weekdays
Bar chart showing the distribution of observations across weekdays. The most active day is highlighted.
Comparison
Bar chart with selectable granularity:
- Weekday — Observations per weekday
- Week — Observations per calendar week
- Month — Observations per month
- Year — Observations per year
Progress
Discovered Objects
Line chart showing the cumulative number of first-time observed objects over time. Useful for tracking your own progress.
Messier
Progress bar for the Messier catalog (X of 110 objects observed) with percentage display.
Equipment
Shows how frequently different telescopes and eyepieces have been used:
- Telescopes — Usage frequency as a bar chart
- Eyepieces — Usage frequency as a bar chart
Only equipment with at least one observation is shown.
Objects
Object Types
Colored badges with the distribution by object type (galaxies, nebulae, star clusters, planets, stars). Distinct objects are counted, not observations.
Most Observed
Ranking of the most frequently observed objects with catalog ID, name, and observation count. The top 5 are shown by default; tap “Show All” to expand the full list.
